Project Description

Northwest Bankstown LAP Study

GMU was appointed by Bankstown City Council to undertake an urban design study to inform the creation of the North West Local Area Plan (LAP). The objectives of the LAP were to develop key planning and urban design principles for the potential increase in density, height and the rezoning of land use in three local centres Bass Hill, Chester Hill and Sefton. More specifically the study aimed to identify potential areas for increased densities with the creation of an urban design framework to support an economically vibrant Chester Hill.

GMU collaborated with a comprehensive team of experts which included a commercial feasibility consultant, noise, traffic, contamination and community facility experts as well as Council’s technical staff who provided expertise in open space resources, flooding and environmental risks.
