Project Description

Chullora Marketplace, Chullora

GM Urban Design and Architecture (GMU) was appointed by the Henroth Group to undertake an urban design study to investigate the possible transformation of the Chullora Marketplace from a traditional stand-alone shopping centre into a vibrant mixed-use local centre. The main purpose of this study was to consider the site opportunities given its designation as a Local Centre in close proximity to a wide range of amenities and employment hubs whilst achieving a high-quality urban design outcome.

The vision was to establish a true local centre that was well-integrated with the existing context and provided a ‘sense of community’ for future residents. The preferred built form strategy was carefully tested and sculpted to maximise the amenity to neighbouring properties without having adverse visual impacts to the context.

Chullora Marketplace has been approved for Gateway.
