Wauchope Framework Plan

Port Macquarie Hastings Council engaged GMU to develop an Urban Design Framework Plan for Wauchope Town Centre. The aim of this project was to create a sense of community and identity and to develop a desired future character that celebrated the town’s unique history while improving livability and vitality for the township.

A detailed analysis of the study area and its role within Port Macquarie LGA formed a basis for the Framework Plan. Analysis work considered the existing town structure, uses, movement network, open space, views, flooding and bush fire. Findings made during the analysis stage led to the development of a strong set of design strategies for each of the identified precincts within the town centre.
