Project Description

Holroyd Centres Study

GMU was appointed by Holroyd Council to undertake an urban design analysis of Pendle Hill and Toongabbie town centres and provide the planning framework and desired character for future development of the centres. The study involved a review of the Metro Strategy objectives Council’s existing development controls, which informed constraints and opportunities mapping for each of the centres. A series of strategy diagrams were produced for each centre, supplemented by desired future character statements.

The outcomes of the study assisted Council and the community to build sustainable town centres that respond to the special character of the local areas and meet the future transport, recreation and employment needs of local and surrounding populations.
