Freshwater Village DCP

GMU was appointed by Warringah Shire Council to prepare a Site Specific Development Control Plan (DCP) for Freshwater Village. Freshwater is classified as a ‘Small Village’ under the Metropolitan and Draft North East Sub-regional Strategies. GMU’s approach to the development of a site specific DCP for Freshwater Village is a place based approach in order to achieve high amenity and a sense of place for the local community whilst also responding to its revitalization needs. GMU’s strategy has included a number of preliminary steps as part of the methodology for the creation of the site specific DCP.

The results of the visioning exercise informed the preferred option and formed the basis for the draft DCP for the site.
