GM Urban Design and Architecture (GMU) was appointed by The Vasey Housing Association NSW to undertake a preliminary built form study and prepare a Concept Development Application for a Seniors Living Development located at No. 18 Waitara Avenue, Waitara. The built form study undertaken by GMU informed the concept DA submission to Hornsby Council.
The preferred built form option was informed by detailed analysis of streetscape features and the neighbourhood character, as well as GMU’s understanding of the desired future character intent for the Park Avenue, Waitara Precinct (HDCP 2013). The preferred option includes a building envelope and apartment building typology which is compatible with the character of the surrounding neighbourhood, providing high levels of amenity to public and private domain areas.
The application was approved by Sydney North Planning Panel in Late 2017.
